Working through the emotions of it all...

July is almost over and I've had one interview. I interviewed for an instructional assistant position for an FMD classroom with Scott County. It will be a great opportunity to get my foot in the door but I can't help but be a little sad that I don't have my own classroom. I see my friends that have found new jobs and are teaching and I have mixed emotions. Of course I'm amazingly happy for them but the green-eyed monster is also trying to show it's head. From there I start doubting myself...maybe I'm not good enough to be a teacher, why can't I get an interview? I'm trying hard to focus on what I have and not what I want but it gets hard when you're so passionate about something. I'd give anything to be back teaching 1st grade at Clear Creek...if only I could turn back time. I can't though, and this life is the one I've been given and it's the one meant for me. I have schoolwork to keep me busy; I start a statistics class next month and I'm very excited about it. It will be nice to have a break from writing paper after paper after paper...on the other hand, I have to remember I'm not that far away from dissertation time! I'm anxious to dive into that but nervous also. I hope it all falls into place and turns out to be a great experience. Brandon got a job that he loves-for that I am grateful. We are settling in to our townhome and are becoming more familiar with Georgetown. Also, we are still waiting for a buyer for our house in NC. We were hoping there would be more interest in it by now but nothing yet. We had one potential buyer that ranked it in his top 3-4 houses he's seen but haven't heard anything else from that. In HIS time all will be settled :) Sophie is growing up super fast. She spits out words and sentences I didn't know she could comprehend and I'm amazed by her daily. We went to the library today in Frankfort and she was curious about the sky light in the Youth area. She looked at it, pointed, and said "look mom, it's a pyramid". Really?? You know what that is?? She's great :)
